Inc Authority Gives Away Year One. Vermont Prints $155. Year Two Is Not Printed Anywhere.
Vermont registered agent representation, billed at $99 per year. Includes the office address on your filings, same-day scanning of legal mail, and reminders for state deadlines.
Our interest, stated first. Vermont Registered Agent.co sells Vermont registered agent service at $99 a year. Inc Authority is a competitor. We want your appointment. The one rule we hold ourselves to on pages like this is that we do not make up a competitor's price, and that rule turns out to be the entire subject here.
Year One Costs Nothing, and That Is True
Inc Authority bundles registered agent service into its formation packages free for the first twelve months. Real offer. Works as described. It arrives at the exact moment a new Vermont company has the least appetite for another recurring charge.
We have no complaint about year one.
Look at the Transaction It Is Attached To
The free year rides along with a formation. So look at what the other party to that same formation does with its pricing.
Vermont charges $155 for the Articles of Organization. It charges $35 to change your registered agent afterward. It charges $45 a year for the annual report. Every one of those sits on a public fee schedule you can read today, without an account, without starting an order, without speaking to anyone. When the state raised the report fee from $35 to $45, it published the new figure and left the old one behind.
That is the standard the state meets on the same transaction where the free year is being handed to you.
Published and Not Published
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HerePublished by Inc Authority: the first year is free. Stated clearly, repeatedly, in several places.
Not published by Inc Authority: what year two costs.
That is the finding, and it is the whole finding. In July 2026 we read through their public material without an order open, looking for a standalone renewal rate for registered agent service, and no such figure appeared anywhere a person could reach before committing. That pattern, in this trade, usually means the figure arrives once an order is already underway or during a sales call.
Filling the blank ourselves is not something we will do. No estimate. No range borrowed from what the rest of the field charges. No adjective standing in for a figure we have not seen. Publishing a competitor's price we cannot verify would make every other number on this site suspect, which is a bad trade for a paragraph of copy.
To be clear about what the objection is and is not: we do not know whether the renewal is expensive. It may well be reasonable. The objection is that Vermont will tell you $155, $45, and $35 before you spend anything, and the vendor sharing the transaction will not tell you year two.
Our own number, for symmetry, is not the lowest in this market. BetterLegal publishes $90, under our $99. So $99 belongs among the low published Vermont rates rather than at the bottom of them.
What $99 Says On the Tin
Our address in Vermont goes onto the agent line of the public file, keeping yours out of it. Same-day scanning of service of process, sent to your inbox and stored in your portal. Complete document history, kept indefinitely. Reminders timed to your own report window, since Vermont sets that window by your fiscal year rather than by a shared date. And $99 again next year, and the year after, because there is no promotional term here to end.
Inc Authority Out, Us In: The Vermont Mechanics
The filing is a Statement of Change and the fee is $35, collected by the Secretary of State. That office takes the change only through bizfilings.vermont.gov, so there is no envelope, no paper, and no form number in existence to go looking for. The submission names your company, the agent being replaced, and the new agent along with a Vermont street address. Inc Authority is told by the record and asked for nothing.
Timing. If a free year is running down, file the change before it lapses rather than after. A bundled term ending does not take anybody's name off your public record; only your filing does that. Appoint us, submit the change, check the state's business search until the agent line shows the new name, and let the old arrangement expire behind you. And if you are considering staying with them, get year two in writing before a card is charged. Ours has been on this page since the first paragraph. The change of agent page has the step-by-step.
